CSv2 Training Workshop #1

March 25, 2010

 by Judy Sebern Beachy

Thanks to all who attended the March CSv2 Training Workshop in Iowa City last week. We appreciated all your comments on the Evaluations. This week we are busy updating our presentations and taking to heart some of your suggestions to improve things for the April training. Overall, the Evaluations were very favorable. The comment I like best was: " I Learned that CSv2 will not be as daunting as expected."
During our time together last week, we laughed and cried a bit..... Some of us gathered for dinner to celebrate St. Patrick's Day...
and on Friday, we learned about the challenges which Sara Holton, our cancer registry associate from Mayo Clinic, has been experiencing over this last year. You can read about this at Caring Bridge Website.
Sara donated a kidney to her husband last summer, and all was going well, until her husband (Mike) had a bad reaction to an anti-rejection drug, which destroyed part of his heart muscle. Their health insurance has been maxed out and they are struggling with medical bills.
There will be a silent auction held in Rochester May 22, and I will be donating one or two pieces of my artwork to this cause. I urge others who might have something to donate to contact Sara’s sister Karla at:
ICRA board is currently discussing ideas to help raise and donate money also. If you have ideas or opinions on this, please contact Sheila, Carol, Tania, or Julie.
