I'm sure most of you have been following the progress of Sara Holton's (MAYO) husband, Mike. He has had a little setback and I thought it would be nice to send messages of encouragement to Sara and her family.
Click here for the link to Mike's Caringbridge site. You can read about it and leave a message. I'm sure Sara would appreciate it and it will make you feel good that you did!
If you've never left a message, you just have to register. It takes about two minutes.
Have a good Thanksgiving!

The delay in sending a thank you comes only because it is hard to find words that truly reflect the gratitude we have for your wonderful donation(s) made for our silent auction benefit.
Through this tragic time in our life we have learned so much about human compassion. Your extreme generosity and kindness is overwhelming. We had over 80 items at the silent auction and approximately 400 guests to bid on them. What a fantastic day as we saw friends and family that came from across the states.
With the monetary donations and the many many wonderful baskets and silent auction items the benefit raised close to $10,000. With one transplant (Kidney) done, the numerous complications and the multiple hospital stays (11 to date) and now the journey toward a new heart our medical bills are unimaginable. However, this has most certainly helped relieve some of our burden so we can concentrate on returning Mike's health.
The simple words of thank you are hardly enough to express our gratefulness but for now that is all we have, so THANK YOU and you will all forever be in our hearts.

Sara Holton is the Cancer Registrar from Rochester MN which works closely with Iowa to submit information on the Iowa residents who are seen at the Mayo Clinic. Her husband, Mike, has been undergoing some health challenges and you can read about it on their Caringbridge site.
This week I mailed off some donated items for the May 22nd Silent Auction Benefit. It’s not too late for others to send donations for this; deadline is May 15th. Contact me and I will give you the address of where to send donations.
Thanks also to Cindy Burgin for the donation of the wonderful handmade crocheted blanket. My sister donated the travel purse and I donated one of my tulip paintings.
Funny how it all seemed to coordinate together, without even trying! We wish Sara and her husband all the best.
