I know many of you are on Facebook these days…. I am only mildly interested in this, but I must say, Facebook is a wonderful place to connect with old friends and keep track of people. On my recent trip to Phoenix, Arizona, I had posted this on Facebook, and I received a message from Hani Babiker telling me that he now lives in Phoenix- So we had lunch together on Friday.

Some of you may remember Hani from his time at SHRI from 2004 to 2005 covering the SW territory, after moving from Iowa City to Omaha.

Hani is such an interesting guy, born in Sudan, educated in Saudi Arabia and a few other countries along the way, then working as Physician in London before coming to the US. I was always amazed at Hani since he knows how to speak at least five languages I believe- he is one smart guy.

Currently Hani is an Internist working at the Mayo Clinic Hospital in Scottsdale. Part of his time he works as hospital staff, then the other half he is teacher with the Interns. He usually has one week “on” and then a week “off”…. crazy schedule, but he seems very happy and loves the warmer weather of Arizona compared to life in New York.

Hani says he has fond memories of Iowa and wishes to say “hello” to all at SHRI office. He wants to come visit again, maybe at a SHRI staff meeting. He even offered to make a medical lecture if we needed a speaker some time.
